WHAT WE BELIEVE
1. The Bible is the word of God. It was written by holy men as they were inspired by God and directed by the Holy Spirit. In the Bible we find the ultimate story of good vs. evil, with God the victor. The Bible gives us knowledge of God and shows us how to live our lives today and how to prepare for eternity when we face death.
2. God is real. God is the all knowing, all seeing, supernatural, loving and merciful ruler of this earth, it's inhabitants, and all the universe that surrounds them. He created all of it.
3. Jesus Christ lived on this earth and was not just a man, not just a prophet, but was and is the son of God. He lived on this earth as you and I do now and faced all the same types of trials and problems we face today, but he remained sinless. He became the Savior of man when his life was brutally sacrificed for all mankind. When he died he took upon himself your sin and mine and the penalty we both faced for our sins, eternal death. After three days he raised back to life, defeating that eternal death and thereby providing a way for us to escape that fate and gain eternal life.
4. Saved from what?? All have sinned and deserve that eternal death. Yes all of us. We just can't help it. Nobody is exempt! So thank God he made this provision to save us!!
5. The GOOD NEWS though, is that even though we are doomed by our sins, we can be forgiven by God for our sins, and by accepting and believing in what Jesus did for us, we can be considered right and sinless in God's eyes and we can look forward to eternal life in heaven!
6. God's put this plan in affect because he loves us. Sometimes a hard concept to grasp, especially for those who may feel they never have been loved before, but God truly does love you, yes you. No matter what you think you are guilty of, how low you see yourself, whatever your baggage, you are truly loved. This love and mercy is why God provided this plan for our escape. We call this love and mercy, His Grace!
7. We are saved by God's merciful Grace, and we can access it only through our faith in Jesus. You cannot do anything else to earn it, it is strictly a gift from God. Although God wants us to live a better life more in tune with His desires, no amount of trying to live a perfectly obedient life will save you. The long time church goer, and the person who just accepted Jesus 2 minutes ago, are both equally saved because of their belief and faith.
8. Faith is the way you grow in your relationship with God. God lives in us through the Holy Spirit. Spending time getting to know Him through praying, reading your bible, and fellowship with others, will help you grow in faith and strength. The Holy Spirit will always be there to help guide you.
9. One of God's main themes is that we are to serve others less fortunate as Jesus did. Providing a meal, clothes, shelter, or a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, a good word for the discouraged, lifting up the broken hearted, the poor, marginalized, and depressed of this world. If you look carefully, that's almost everyone.
10. Although we are saved solely by God's grace, He has set before us the ten commandments, which reflect God's character and are good and holy. The commandments are there to show us when we are sinning and that we need to go to God for that grace He promised us. Gods commandments can be summarized in two statements. Love God with all your heart and soul. Love all mankind as you love yourself.
11. Jesus is coming again very soon. When Jesus arose from the grave, he went up into heaven, but not without this promise. He will come again in what we call the end times. By nearly all accepted standards of study and bible scholars, that time appears to be quickly approaching.
